Poultry was the very foundation of Tri Gas & Oil. The McMahan Poultry Company began in 1946 with our original founder Lee D. McMahan. A few years later, he purchased a used oil truck to deliver fuel to his own poultry houses for efficiency. Fueling his own farm grew into fueling his surrounding poultry neighbors and led to where we stand today. Rooted in poultry and still growing with you.

Poultry producers using propane as their main source of heat in their buildings is nothing new. But that’s not all it can be used for. Propane can not only heat your chicken houses but can also be used to sanitize them. As anyone with livestock knows, preventing and controlling disease is essential for your farm. If you’re looking for a fuel that can do it all by heating and cleaning your facilities, propane is your answer.
Propane-fueled sanitizers generate heat from propane flames housed under a steel hood that sanitizes poultry litter. This heat kills pathogens, reduces ammonia levels, and controls harmful diseases that can affect bird weight and their vitality.
What kind of contract do I need to sign?
We don’t have any time lock-in contracts here at Tri Gas & Oil. We’re on your terms for your poultry needs. We’ll never confine your needs, limits or control your timing.
Can you guys monitor my farm?
Certainly! We know you have a lot to juggle already, that’s why we offer a meter for each tank at your farm that monitors the propane levels at all times. The actual monitoring of the meters is done by our in house Poultry Coordinator, Rachel Bounds, who watches the levels daily and will place a delivery for your farm right away should a meter show the need for it.
What kind of procedures are put in place if I need help?
A live person is available for your poultry needs 24/7/365 days a week. Whether it’s a middle of the night emergency or mid-day question, we’re here for you through it all.
